Dutch Courses

TaalTaal offers quality Dutch courses on several levels. Our groups consist of a maximum of 12 students, so you will have plenty of personal attention and guidance.

The new season starts in the week of September 6th, 2010 and will include 14 lessons of 75 minutes each. There is no class during school holidays. It is possible to sign up for an already running course.

Dutch Level 1

Level before course:  You have not yet participated in a Dutch course.

Level after course:  You can handle daily life situations in Dutch. You know numerals, simple grammar and plurals. You can have short conversations in Dutch. Your CEFR level is A1.

Frequency, duration, day and time:  One lesson a week for 14 weeks. Monday between 10:30 and 11:45, Wednesday between 18:00 and 19:15, Thursday between 18:00 and 19:15.

Price: € 322 (14 x 75 minutes, course material is included)

Dutch Level 2

Level before course:  You have participated in the course Dutch Level 1 or a similar course.

Level after course:  You know how to construct sentences in the past and future tense. You are able to have conversations with Dutch citizens about various simple topics. You can also read and understand short texts in Dutch. Your CEFR level is A1/A2.

Frequency, duration, day and time:  One lesson a week for 14 weeks. Monday between 10:30 and 11:45, Wednesday between 19:30 and 20:45.

Dutch Level 3

Level before course:  You have participated in the course Dutch Level 2 or a similar course.

Level after course:  You know how to use complex grammar. You are able to communicate with Dutch citizens about various complex topics. Your CEFR level is A2/B1.

Frequency, duration, day and time:  One lesson a week for 14 weeks. Monday between 18:00 and 19:15, Thursday between 13:15 and 14:30, Thursday between 19:30 and 20:45.

Dutch Level 4

Level before course:  You have participated in the course Dutch Level 3 or a similar course.

Level after course:  You no longer have to search for words when speaking Dutch. You can write short letters and read and understand articles in magazines and newspapers. You understand what's being said on Dutch television. Your CEFR level is B1/B2.

Frequency, duration, day and time:  One lesson a week for 14 weeks. Monday between 19:30 and 20:45, Thursday between 13:15 and 14:30.

Dutch Level 5

Level before course:  You have participated in the Dutch level 4 or another similar course.

Level after course:  You are able to use Dutch grammar with ease. Your language structure is more natural and the structure of your written work is more logical. You understand Dutch texts, even if written for an audience with a higher education. Your CEFR level is B2/C1.

Frequency, duration, day and time:  One lesson a week for 14 weeks. Wednesday between 19:30 and 20:45.

Dutch Level 6

Level before course:  You have a good knowledge of spoken Dutch, but your writing ability still needs work.

Level after course:  Your knowledge of Dutch has greatly improved. Your vocabulary is larger, so you're able to have conversations on less familiar topics. You are able to attend meetings and seminars in Dutch and ask detailed questions afterwards. Your written business correspondence is correct and accurate. Your CEFR level is C1.

Frequency, duration, day and time:  One lesson a week for 14 weeks. Wednesday between 18:00 and 19:15.

Intensive Dutch Course Level 1/2

Level before course:  Your knowledge of Dutch is limited. You have difficulty pronouncing words and can't make correct sentences.

Level after course:  You are able to survive in Dutch. You know how to use question words, prepositions, plurals and other basic Dutch grammar, as well as the simple past tense and future tense. You understand simple information, questions and directions. You can have basic conversations with Dutch people. You understand the contents of simple emails and letters. This level can be compared to the A1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference.

Frequency, duration, day and time:  Every work day from 10am till 2pm for 2 weeks.

Periods: March 1 to 12 2010, April 5 to 16 2010, May 3 to 14 2010, June 7 to 18 2010, July 5 to 16 2010, September 6 to 17 2010, October 4 to 15 2010, November 1 to 12 2010, December 6 to 17 2010.

Price: € 1195 (study material, lunch and certificate included)

Intensive Dutch Course Level 3/4

Level before course:  You are able to survive in Dutch. You know how to use question words, prepositions, plurals and other basic Dutch grammar, as well as the simple past tense and future tense. You understand simple information, questions and directions. You can have basic conversations with Dutch people. You understand the contents of simple emails and letters.

Level after course:  You have no difficulty using Dutch grammar correctly in sentences, including irregularities. You can write short but errorless emails, (business) letters and a curriculum vitae. You can inquire more information about familiar subjects and have conversations about a variety of topics. You are able to read and understand short articles in newspapers and magazines and you understand Dutch television shows. This level can be compared to the A2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference

Frequency, duration, day and time:  Every work day from 10am till 2pm for 2 weeks.

Periods: March 15 to 26 2010, April 19 to 30 2010, May 17 to 28 2010, June 21 to July 2 2010, July 19 to 30 2010, August 9 to 20 2010, September 20 to October 1 2010, October 18 to 29 2010, November 22 to December 3 2010, December 20 to 31 2010.

Intensive Dutch Course Level 5/6

Level before course:  You have a reasonable knowledge of Dutch, but need to improve to come to an intermediate level. Your current CEFR level is A2.

Level after course:  Your knowledge of Dutch has greatly improved. Your vocabulary is larger, so you're able to have conversations on less familiar topics. You are able to attend meetings and seminars in Dutch and ask detailed questions afterwards. This level can be compared to the B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference.

Frequency, duration, day and time:  Every work day from 10am till 2pm for 2 weeks.

Periods: March 1 to 12 2010, April 5 to 16 2010, May 3 to 14 2010, June 7 to 18 2010, July 5 to 16 2010, August 9 to 20 2010, September 6 to 17 2010, October 4 to 15 2010, November 1 to 12 2010, December 6 to 17 2010.
